The conference, themed 'Towards Sustainable Land-Use in Tropical Asia', is being held in collaboration with ATBC and the Japanese Society for Tropical Ecology.Officiating the Conference, Dato Sri Hj. Awang Tengah Ali Hassan, Second Minister of Planning and Resource Management and Minister of Public Utilities, who represented the Chief Minister said "tropical Asia has the highest density of 'Biodiversity hotspots' and that it also has the highest population of people in biodiversity hotspots".</description>
