STANDARD OPERATING PROCEDURES (SOPS) AND FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS (FAQS) DURING CMCO
Following the memo from the Ministry of Local Government and Housing Sarawak dated 7 May 2020, please be informed that the eco-tourism activity is prohibited under the “List of barred activities during CMCO”. Therefore, all totally protected areas (TPAs), including national parks and nature reserves will be closed to any and all eco-tourism activities including recreational.
During this CMCO, SFC is open for Wildlife licensing application. Apart from that, we will actively enforce the Wild Life Protection Ordinance 1998 in combating illegal wildlife trade. Members of the public are encouraged to report to SFC if there is any information on illegal activities such as hunting, capturing, killing, trading, keeping as pets, importing or exporting of protected wildlife through SFC hotlines – Kuching (019-8859996, 013-8110150), Sibu (019-8883561) Bintulu (019-8223449, 019-8332737), or Miri (019-8224566, 019-8290994).
