27 Oct 9-FOOT CROC CAUGHT IN MIRI
MIR, 27 OCTOBER 2017 – A 9-foot female crocodile that has been terrorising a squatter settlement at RPR Batu 6, Miri has been caught with the assistance of SARAWAK FORESTRY Corporation’s (SFC) Swift Wildlife Action Team (SWAT) yesterday.
“Acting on complaints from the public, our Miri SWAT arrived at 10am and installed two traps. The reptile took the bait at 6pm and the team was able to subdue it around 9pm. It has since been transferred to the Benaya Crocodile Farm in Kuala Baram,” said a statement issued by SFC.
Members of the public are reminded to notify the nearest Forest Department or SFC offices of crocodile sightings in their areas and not take matters into their own hands as these reptiles are dangerous.
