SWAT TEAM CAPTURES 6.5-FOOT CROC AT KUCHING WATERFRONT
3 April 2019 : SARAWAK FORESTRY Corporation’s (SFC) Swift Wildlife Action Team (SWAT) caught a 6.5-foot male crocodile that has been seen lurking in Sarawak River near Masjid India’s new floating mosque last Wednesday morning.
In this operation scheduled for 5 days (April 1 to 5), SWAT TEAM managed to catch one crocodile measuring at 2 metre in length after 3 days of operation. It has since been transferred to Matang Wildlife Centre.
CEO of SFCSB Haji Zolkipli Mohamad Aton said the operation was carried out as Kuching Waterfront is one of the Crocodile Removal Zones, thus should be free of the reptiles in ensuring the safety of the public.
